Rebekah Kathleen Cheney Griffith..

Is that a name or what? She's just Bekah to me. When I was about 14 yrs old, my family moved from Fruit Heights to Bountiful. It was about a month after 8th grade started. I hated moving and of course it's just hard to meet friends anyway. And let's face it. Jr High is just socially awkward. But in my ward there was a girl named Bekah Cheney. And she talked to me and we kind of got along. I remember going to a Seniors place for a young women's activity. We went together and then she came over to my house where we made ourselves sick with Dr. Pepper and Cool Ranch doritos. We talked, talked and talked. Even in the morning she stayed until noon, talking. It was awesome! Anyway, needless to say, she became one of my best friends. But then she up and got married to some great guy she met in Vegas at 20 yrs old, moved to Ohio, where he was from and had 4 kids! But we have been able to keep in touch throughout the years and she's moved back and now living in Washington Terrace(South Ogden). Last night, we finally got together and spent some time together. We went out to eat and talked and talked and talked. I think we drank over 7 diet cokes.... I left the waitress a really nice tip. Then we went back to her house and hung out, talked some more and watched some Bill Engvall. HILARIOUS! I got home about 1:30am. It was a blast!

We went to Chili's for dinner. Before we left Bekah's husband said that he wanted 2 bites of her dinner.... Well, we brought home 3 bites.. of broccoli. We thought we were pretty funny. Try asking for a "to go" container without laughing....
Michael couldn't wait to tear open the 2 bites of her food.... I don't think he thought it was as funny as we did, even though he's smiling.... That's Bekah's little girl Sydnee on the couch.

Thriller

Friday Night, Jess, Kadee, Rebecca and I went to Thriller. I haven't been for quite a few years and I love dancing! I do! So I was really excited on going! We all met up at Market Street Grill near Kingsbury Hall We we ate in a boat-type table. The bread was delicious, the diet coke flowed and the Halibut was wonderful! We ate ourselves sick that night. Then we headed up towards the theater. There were zombies walking around. You'll have to check Jess's blog for those pictures.
'Cuz this is Thriller! Thriller Night!" Of course it opened with Thriller by the masterful Michael Jackson. It was great! There were a couple of dances that I remember from the last time I attended but then there were several new ones to me.
I hadn't seen the Scarecrow one. And this one was my favorite! Because it was hip hop and that is my favorite type of dancing! It was completely awesome!
Some of the pictures were blurry because I was in the upper section of the hall. But this is the River Dance type of dance. I can't tell you what happens at the end, especially if you haven't seen it. But it is hilarious at the end!
As if we weren't sick as is and we thought that Hatch's was going to be closed.... we stopped by anyway where Jess bought a white chocolate pear and I got a chocolate/carmel pretzel and some rich delicious hot chocolate. It was so rich and we got sick! It was a great night!

It's a family thing

It's been a very busy week! My sister Jen, her husband Dave and their 3 kids came out for the entire week. And guess where they stayed? At the parents house. Which means, the peace and quiet that I am used cease to existed for that entire week. Monday we had family pictures. Imagine.. trying to get 31 people posed just right and over half of them were kids. But it turned out ok and then we all went to Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Tuesday was just a time to hang out at home. Wednesday Night was girls night. My mom, my four sisters, me and a couple of nieces, we ate pizza, talked for a few hours and then laughed our butts off at Another Stakeout. It was really fun! I love those times the best. Thursday, I got off work earlier and went shopping with Jen and Mom at Gardner Village and Tai Pan. I spent way too much of course but that night, Jen, Dave, mom and me went Erin's show Evita at Rogers Memorial. And again, not just saying it because it's my sister, but she played Eva Paron perfectly and I was so proud of her. Friday Night we went to dinner at Z-Tejas and then saw Paranormal Activity. I am not kidding... I was seriously thinking of walking out because I was seriously freaked out. And I'll admit, I was closing my eyes and covering my ears because I'd be sleeping by myself that night. Saturday, my sister left really early in the morning. They did arrive home safely back to Oklahoma. It was a good time to see them and spend some time with them.

How's that smile? That's what I thought of the pictures!
I took this picture of my parents and changed the color a bit. Isn't that a good one?
Leaving dinner. Lindsey, Matt me and Abby
Ella, she actually liked the lemon!
Girl's Night Out at Rachel's house
One thing that we all do well is eat.... There was pizza, steak and donuts.... we all made ourselves sick!
Erin's show-Jen, Dave, Erin(Evita) Nate and me
Erin, Nate and Jen after the show.... I think this is the wrong movie?

Frightmares 2009

My niece Abby works at Lagoon and she is able to get family passes once a month to get 8 people in for 10 bucks a piece. Now I am certainly not the kind of person to spend 40 bucks to go a full day of Lagoon. It just isn't that worth it. But if I can spend ten bucks to get in, then that's more doable. I love going to Frightmares because the lines aren't that long and you aren't standing in line when it's 90 degrees. It was the perfect day to go to Lagoon and spend it with my sister and her 4 older girls. We had such a great time! And laughed uncontrollably!

Abby, Allie, Maddie, Rebekah and Olivia
They dress up Lagoon in Halloween themed stuff. Do you think I need a new life?
We started off riding Wicked, then hit Colossus and then found some new Halloween costumes for the girls and Rebekah.
Waiting in line for the Music Express. Abby, Allie, Maddie and Olivia-My girls!
Rebekah, Abby and Me-Musicland Express is about to start
Allie, Rebekah and Olivia had never done the SkyCoaster. They were a little frightened! But loved every minute of it!
Abby wanted to go on the Skycoaster and somehow she talked me into going with her. I told her I hated her all the way up! When it was over, I told her how much I loved her.
We had a great time and laughed so much and ate so much! We made ourselves sick. I am surprised that not one of us threw up from the rides!

Snow Patrol Concert

On Saturday, Oct 10th, Snow Patrol came into town. Sarah, Coleman and I had gone to their concert when they came to Salt Air about 2 yrs ago. It was a fantastic concert and we were excited to go see them again. This concert was awesome! Plain White T's opened for them but only sang 3 songs. The lead singer was sick. So Snow Patrol came on a little bit later and played a lot of their old stuff. SO GOOD!

Dinner Started off at the OG in West Valley. Then we took the long trip down to Happy Valley (Provo) Sarah, Me and Coleman-Sarah's Little Brother
Of Course you have to buy a shirt!

St George Marathon 2009

When I crossed the finish line of the 2009 St. George Marathon, my first thought was, "Really, I just ran 26.2 miles?" I couldn't believe that I had just done that. After giving up yet another summer for training, loosing toe nails(i know gross) and blisters, I am already home, barely walking because I am so sore and can barley move. The weather couldn't be more perfect! My mom and I left on Thursday afternoon because we had Tickets to the Tuacahn Theater for their production of AIDA. It was amazing! Friday hung out, shopped at Tai Pan and bought some Halloween decorations and then my brother came into town and we went to go pick up our packets. We ate some dinner and then got ready for the big day. We had to wake up at 4:00am to be at the buses by 5:00am. We got taken to the starting line where it was freezing. The gun went off at 6:45am and we were off. It got warm fast and by mile 6 I was in my tank and shorts. I just paced myself and ran from station to station which are about every 2 miles. Matt came in at 4:19, Sarah came in at 4:37, I came in at 4:42 and Stu came in at 4:59. I shaved off 35 minutes from last years marathon. And that is ALOT of time! I promise! We all ROCKED it!!! I wasn't sick and I felt great besides the fact that my legs were trashed!

This is the actor who played the lead. WOW! He was really ripped! YUM YUM!
Pretty Bird.... Pretty Bird.... We shopped for a bit at Tai Pan. I found a friend!
Here we are at the Start Line.. we really did run 26.2 miles!
The last 300 yards where I saw my mom and my sister Rebekah. It took a little to not cry! It was emotional! It was totally awesome that they were there and supported me!
The four finishers! We totally rocked it! Stu, Sarah, me and my brother Matt. It was so much fun. We tattooed ourselves the St George Marathon logo on our right calves and we got so many jealous comments!

LOTOJA

Umm... what does that supposed to stand for? Well, it stands for a 206 mile bike race that starts in Logan, Utah and ends in Jackson Hole, WY. You cross 3 states over mountains, road and trails for the glory of finishing before night.... Are you kidding? I didn't do this! I would totally run a marathon before biking that many miles and for that long! But I was so happy to support Stu Reeder in his quest to bike the course. Sarah and I supported him in getting up at 3am to drive to Logan on Saturday for him to start at 5:57am. There are several "feed stations" where we would meet up with him every 30 to 40 miles and give him food, drinking and a muscle rub down. I was in the support car last year for my brother and I was excited that I got to do this again. It's so inspiring to have some one kick some ass and I just get to support them.

Stu and his dad Owen, right before they headed out for an "easy" 34 miles to Preston, Id. I am surprised they were able to see. It was so dang dark! The sky didn't really lighten up till about 7am! It was so early and I started early with my Rockstar to keep me awake since I had only about 3 hours of sleep.
Sarah and I were Stu's "support crew" We were waiting at Feed Station 3 in Montpelier, Id. It got a little hot and toasty but the wind was pretty wild. They had gone about 50 miles when they met up with us again. We even watched a little Arrested Development while we waited.
Stu coming up off the very last really big hill. It was about a 7% grade and it looked tough just driving it! It's called King/Queen of the Mountain. He rocked it and his words when he saw us were "Well... that sucked." It was great! He rocked the hard stuff!
Stu, Sarah and me at the Finish Line! He crossed the finish line and you know what they gave him? A stinkin' hanger as his award! It said Lotoja and everything on it but really? He paid 108 bucks for a hanger? I get a poster, a medal, I get to keep my timing chip and an awesome looking shirt when I run my marathon in 3 weeks! That only cost me 60 bucks! What the heck! We finished around 8:30pm and went over to the Mangy Moose to eat. After waiting for an hour, we finally received our food and got to our hotel about 11pm.
But when we got to our hotel, they had only reserved a one bed room. Well.... I am not sleeping on the floor so they upgraded us to one of their condos. Holy Crap! This thing was awesome! 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and two huge rooms. I got my own room with a queen bed and my own bathroom which included this tub! It was so huge! I could have had a party in it! Of course I tried it out!
It was such an awesome day and I am grateful that I could join up and do that with Sarah and Stu! I had a great time and I was seriously so grateful I didn't have to bike the race! Ouch!
